Swaffham Market Place


Well known for its two large wind turbines and large market place featuring the butter cross built in 1783 by the Earl of Orford, Swaffham is a fine example of a Norfolk market town.

Wind Turbines

Two large wind turbines, owned an operated by the green energy company, Ecotricity, can be found in Swaffham. The turbines are regarded by many as a local landmark, and on a days of good visibility can be seen from as distant places as Elgar's Wood in Rudham and Knights Hill in Kings Lynn.
